Introduction:Human Stampedes (HS) occur at religious mass gatherings. Religious events have a higher rate of morbidity and mortality than other events that experience HS. This study is a subset analysis of religious event HS data regarding the physics principles involved in HS, and the associated event morbidity and mortality.Aim:To analyze reports of religious HS to determine the initiating physics principles and associated morbidity and mortality.Methods:Thirty-four reports of religious HS were analyzed to find shared variables. Thirty-three (97.1%) were written media reports with photographic, drawn, or video documentation. 29 (85.3%) cited footage/photographs and 1 (2.9%) was not associated with visual evidence. This research has two broad objectives: First, to model population growth in a stochastic framework such that the effects of possible non-mean convergent shocks could be studied theoretically on long-run economic growth and planning. Second, an empirical strategy for modelling stochastic population growth over time is provided. Forecasting exercise has been rigorously carried for population growth and income by embedding the stochastic growth feature of population. For modelling purpose, a long-memory mechanism for population growth is suggested so that the classical economic growth assumption of constant and/or non-stochastic population growth in economic growth models appear as a limiting case. The analytical results show that embedding the stochastic features of population growth helps in explaining the economic growth volatility. There are 320 historical cult buildings as cultural monuments of national significance in Latvia. Cultural and historical art monuments and artifacts (paintings, organs, chairs, altars, pulpits) must be preserved and protected in these cultural buildings. Specific indoor climate is necessary to maintain in historical cult buildings to pass on to future generations, but those specific requirements often are complete opposite of the actual microclimate and what the user wants. Indoor climate measurements have been carried out in five brick wall and two wooden churches with and without heating systems. Potential condensation risks are determined using calculations. A series of 10 public events throughout 2019 taking place in a range of venues in Glasgow. The series explores the needs, expectations and possibilities of the (public) space for art today with speakers including artists, architects, curators and others involved in or looking at curatorial practice. The title is borrowed from a text by Swiss artist Remy Zaugg (1943 – 2005), ‘The Art Museum of My Dreams’, written in 1986, and first published in English in 2013.

Previously ascribed the position of meta-archivist in a culture marked by remembrance and retro-vision, the contemporary artist has been relocated arguably by today’s radical distribution of archival activity in and by the practices and technologies of social media. This conversation with Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, two young audiovisual practitioners from Palestine, reveals some of the reasons behind this reconfiguration of the archival in its relation to the arts. Reflecting upon the emergence of an ‘archival multitude’ in North Africa and the Middle East during the past few years, Abbas and Abou-Rahme discuss the necessity of actively assessing the networked archives of the digital realm, thereby entailing significant shifts of their own artistic methodology.

This chapter present the importance of memory making in migrant families lives and how emigrants ‘do’ family memory. A representative survey of Lithuanian residents shows that those with emigration experience since 1990 participate in family memory construction more actively. The development of such communicative family memory is family work which demonstrates family solidarity and occurs between and within generations. However, this research shows that gender, age and location influence who is involved in this process with men and younger family members less likely to participate.

This essay explores the attitudes of the British middle classes towards witchcraft, ghosts, and other so-called superstitions from the mid-eighteenth to the late nineteenth centuries. Conventional historiographical wisdom maintains that belief in magic among middle-class Britons declined gradually between the early modern and modern eras. Grounded in the study of newspapers, antiquarianism, public lectures, and literary fiction, this essay proposes a more precise chronology for the decline and subsequent resurgence of magic. It argues that it was only from the 1820s that the middle classes, the media that served them, the police, and certain politicians put popular superstitions under significant duress, and examines the agendas and anxieties underlying this temporary cultural shift away from magic. This paper is an analysis of tense and aspect in Ateso, an Eastern Nilotic language. Ateso distinguishes between past and non-past tenses: the past tense is marked by a low tone on the syllable peaks of the verb, while the non-past is marked by a high tone on the verb nucleus. With regard to aspect, it distinguishes between the following: imperfective, perfective, consecutive, perfect, habitual, and iterative. The first five aspects are marked morphologically by the morphemes -i, -it, ko-, aand -nene respectively. The iterative is marked by reduplication of the verb root. Since tone, tense and aspect are assigned differently in each of the TesoTurkana subgroups, it is important that they are analysed separately for a clear view of these concepts and how they are represented specifically in Ateso.
